ChristianCafe.com was co-founded by brothers
Sam and Philip Moorcroft in 1998, after both found themselves
downsized from a tech company…in spite of having MBA
degrees.
Finding himself 30 and single in 1997, Sam had been spending
a lot of time on the Internet, searching singles sites. Disappointed
at the lack of decent Christian singles sites, the Moorcroft
brothers developed their own, and called it ChristianCafe.
In early 1999, Christian Cafe went "live".
Philip got a job as a financial analyst to help fund the new
venture, while Sam worked on it full time from his tiny basement
apartment. Borrowing heavily to get the site going and facing
many challenges initially, ChristianCafe.com took
off within a year. The rest, they say, is history, with Christian
Cafe being the premier Christian-owned singles dating
site in the world ever since.
ChristianCafe.com's appeal lies in its warm,
user-friendly "virtual
cafe" design, which appeals especially to women (the men like
it, too!). In addition to loads of exciting features, it success
is attributable to the over 1,000,000 Christian singles who
have created profiles on the Cafe, over the years. Hundreds
of thousands have made connections, with so many getting married,
that Sam and Philip have lost count!
